Organic food for locals
Funding enabled Long Crichel Organic Garden to establish itself as a social enterprise to provide fresh local and organic vegetables to the village and surrounding area. The income generated was then used to develop the Garden as a Centre for Sustainability, utilising horticulture in a therapeutic context and providing a shared space for local people to meet and develop their own project ideas. A veggie box scheme was established, run by adults with learning difficulties who also ran the Gardens stall at the weekly Farmers’ Market. The Garden has been used by many different people and remains a self sustaining community asset.
"I am very happy that I do something I love and hope that I enable others to do the same in sharing this project" Anni Sax
